Making Happy, Healthy Soil
Adding organic matter at the beginning, and regularly throughout the year, is the key to making happy and healthy soil.We keep our garden centre well stocked (even in summer) and well staffed by qualified professionals. We believe that the best option to protect our food supplies, environment, health and wellbeing is to use organic growing methods. These harness the natural cycles and processes that promote plant growth.
Whatever the style, size or location of your garden, the Garden Organic guidelines will help you look after it organically. The guidelines are based on the principles and practices of organic agriculture, which have been interpreted and adapted to apply to garden scale growing based on Garden Organic’s 50 years’ experience.
We provide practical advice in the form of a comprehensive set of free Grow Your Own cards to help you get the best produce from your organic garden. They offer guidance on propagating and growing Vegetables, Edible Flowers, Fruit, Herbs and Green Manures. A glossary of gardening terms is also available. You can view these cards online and you are free to download them for future reference.
To help support our members with their own organic growing we provide a range of information and advice; including fact sheets, a members’ forum, a magazine and an online advice line. Join us to access this support.
